How to Register Your School

Register your school in minutes with one short form, an email verification and a portal provisioned on your own sub-domain. No credit card required.

The web address you choose here is permanent, so it is worth choosing carefully.

Registration steps

School details. Enter your school name, your web address, school type (Nursery, Primary, Secondary, or a combination), email, address, city, and country (a phone number is optional). Your school type drives some of the auto-setup below, and your school email becomes the reply-to address on emails sent to parents, which is why it is required.
The web address is offered from your school's name and you can change it, but only here: it becomes yourschool.1410sms.com, the address every parent, pupil and member of staff types, and it is permanent. It is checked as you type, so you know it is free before you go on. Because it is a web address it can only carry lowercase English letters, numbers and single hyphens; anything else is removed as you type, and the form says so when it does. The mobile app asks for it too and in exactly the same way, so it does not matter which one you register from.
Admin account. Provide the first admin's name, email, phone, and a password (at least 8 characters; a strong password is recommended). This account will have full access to the platform.
Email verification. A verification email is sent to the admin email. Click the link, or enter the 6-digit code from the same email, within 24 hours to activate your account. (The mobile app uses the code.)
School portal ready. After verification, you are redirected to your school's portal at yourschoolname.1410sms.com where you can begin setup.

Auto-setup included

Once you verify your email, a lot is already in place: default academic terms (First, Second, Third Term), the current academic session, an active calendar with the right term already marked current for the time of year, default departments, a starter set of classes and subjects matched to your school type, and a free-plan subscription.

Those defaults arrive usable, not just present:

Classes are in school order, youngest first (Playgroup through Nursery, Year 1 to Year 6, JSS and SS), so every class dropdown in the platform reads the way your school does rather than alphabetically, which would put Year 10 before Year 2. Reorder any of them on the class form. A Primary & Secondary school gets the early-years classes as well, since the nursery section that feeds a primary school is nearly always part of it; delete any you do not run.
Subjects are filed under a department, so the Subjects page opens grouped (Mathematics and Physics under Sciences, English and French under Languages) instead of with a blank category on every row. Each class also arrives with its own subject list already assigned.
Fee structures are classified (Tuition, Examination, Sports, Graduation, School Uniform, Transportation), so revenue-by-category works from your first invoice. No amounts are set, because those are yours to decide.
Assessments are in teaching order (Classwork, Assignment, Test, Project, Examination), which is the order their columns print on a report card.
Number prefixes come from your school's name: "Bright Star International School" gives admission numbers BSI-00001, invoices BSI-INV-00001 and receipts BSI-RCP-00001. They identify your school, and an invoice still tells itself apart from a pupil's admission number. Change any of them under Settings → Sequential Numbers.

Your report cards and staff accounts are set up too: your standard report-card template, a starting catalogue of psychomotor skills and behavioural traits, the teacher's and head of school's remark types, the early-years developmental template for any reception or playgroup class, and the full set of staff roles from Owner down to Librarian, with your own account holding Owner.

After registration

Once you are logged in as admin, most of the academic structure above already exists. Review it, adjust anything that does not match your school, then continue with:

Set up your school branding: logo and motto in School Profile, brand colours in Settings → Brand Colours, so the portal looks like your school from the first day
Review the auto-created classes, subjects, fee types, and grade types, and adjust them to match your school
Add teachers and assign them to subjects and classes
Enrol students into classes
Configure your grading scale in Settings → Academics → Grade Scale
