Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the 1410SMS school management platform ("1410SMS", the "Service"), operated by 1410 Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). By registering for or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & accounts

The Service is intended for schools and educational institutions. The person who registers a school ("School Administrator") confirms they are authorised to act on behalf of that school. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for all activity under your account, and for keeping your login credentials confidential.

2. Your school's web address (subdomain)

Each school is assigned a web address in the form yourschoolname.1410sms.com, chosen during registration. The address is permanent and is not editable after registration; schools that require a different address may configure a custom domain on eligible plans.

We reserve the right to refuse, change, reclaim, suspend, or revoke any school slug or subdomain at our sole discretion, including, without limitation, where it: is reserved for platform use; infringes a third party's trademark or other rights; impersonates another organisation; contains offensive, profane, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate terms; or is used in breach of these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. Where practical we will give notice, but we are not obliged to do so.

3. Acceptable use

Your use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. You must not misuse the Service or use it for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Every school starts on the free plan. Paid plans are billed per term or per session (three terms) in Nigerian Naira (NGN) via our payment processor. Charges are based on the plan you select and are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change plan pricing or features on reasonable notice; changes do not affect the term you have already paid for.

5. Your data

You retain ownership of the data your school enters (students, staff, parents, grades, fees, and related records). You grant us the limited rights needed to host and operate the Service. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to upload personal data to the Service, including the personal data of minors.

6. Availability & changes

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.

7. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy are breached, where payment is overdue, or where required to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. On termination we may delete your data after a reasonable period, subject to the Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
